When you’re living with dementia, even small steps can be big wins. At Brookdale Harbor Bay, we strive to enrich our residents' lives with engaging activities, social events, and the gentle support needed to thrive with Alzheimer's and dementia. You'll find our memory care campus nestled in a peaceful neighborhood of Gig Harbor, Washington, just a short walk from the Gig Harbor shore.
Here at Brookdale, your loved one will experience new and exciting activities each day, starting with our daily structured path of engagement. This path includes a minimum of six activities designed to strengthen cognitive, physical, and social skills. This includes activities like clustered group discussions, fitness classes, and creative art sessions. Additionally, your loved one will be given a choice to participate in as many group events as they want, such as:
- Chair yoga
- Bingo games
- Crafting hours
- Watercolor painting
- Movie matinees
- Hot cocoa socials
- Bowling
- Ball tosses
Test of content
When it's time to recharge, your loved one will have their own personal apartment that they are free to personalize with personal furnishings, family photos, treasured mementos, and more. Before move-in day, you'll be able to select a floor plan that best suits your loved one's preferences. Each apartment is designed with a private bathroom, closets, and windows that let in plenty of natural light.
When it comes to your loved one's care plan, everything is customized to their needs. Our attentive care staff can help with grooming, dressing, medication management, moving around on campus, dining assistance, and more. Of course, we're also here to provide gentle reminders and encouragement along the way. We also have care staff on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to emergencies.
