Will I be charged for the processing of my VA application?

Please know that it is illegal for anyone to charge you for the processing of your application for Veteran Aid and Attendance. Filing your application with the VA is free. We do offer various services for a one-time fee that will help you fill in your application, with cross-checking measures along the way, so you can be sure your application is completed successfully.

Do I qualify?

ElderLife has VA experts and services that can help you understand your likelihood of qualifying for the VA’s Aid and Attendance pension benefit. We also offer a “TurboTax-like” software that will help you compile your application. ElderLife does not process applications for Veteran Benefits – these still need to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).

Do we get all the money in a lump sum?

Most ElderLife Bridge Loans are structured like a line of credit. You only draw down what you need on a monthly basis. While we approve you for the credit limit, you only pay interest on what you borrow and you only pay back what you drew down. However, if you need a large sum up front, ElderLife can structure the loan as an amortizing loan. Your financial concierge will work with you to determine the best structure for you.

What can the money be used for?

Your funds are sent directly to the senior living community quickly and easily. Each month you decide what you would like to send, and the amount you request can vary month by month.

Can I pay off the loan early?

There is no prepayment penalty on the loan. You can pay the entire balance due at any time during the life of the loan without penalty.
