The idea for Elderlife was sparked during an ordinary dinner meeting between a retired grandfather of ten and a recent Master's graduate looking for a career that touched his heart and gave him purpose. As the grandfather shared the joys and rewards of grandparenting, the conversation progressed to the lack of affordable senior living and care for the millions of grandparents and great-grandparents around the country.

During the conversation, the graduate couldn't help thinking of his own family. The eldest son of immigrant refugees, he felt deep gratitude toward his parents who sacrificed everything to ensure their children could live the American dream. He felt a profound responsibility to ensure his parents could live that same dream when they became grandparents.
